Skincare is Essential to Acne Care

Skincare cannot be undervalued when you’re talking about treating acne, says Julie Harper, MD. “When we are going to be putting treatments on top of the skin. If we’ve got skin that is irritated—if the skin barrier is not working appropriately—they’re not going to tolerate the medications that we prescribe. And if you don’t tolerate them you won’t use them, and if you don’t use them they don’t have any chance of working.”
